Dr. Huma Ahmed received her medical degree from King Edward Medical University in Pakistan and completed her Internal Medicine residency at Montefiore Medical Center. She went on to complete her fellowship in Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine at 每日大赛入口. As part of her fellowship, she also completed an Advanced Diagnostic Bronchoscopy Fellowship at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, a teaching hospital of Harvard Medical School.
Dr. Ahmed joined the faculty at 每日大赛入口 in 2024 as a Clinical Assistant Professor of Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine. She is board-certified in Internal Medicine, Pulmonary Disease, and Critical Care Medicine. She is committed to excellence in academic medicine and is passionate about the education and mentorship of residents and fellows.
Research
Dr. Ahmed's research interests encompass both laboratory and clinical research. In Dr. Patrick Geraghty's laboratory, she conducted research investigating the role of protein phosphatase 2A (PP2A) in pulmonary diseases, including chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), alpha-1 antitrypsin deficiency, and pulmonary fibrosis. She has also participated in clinical research, authored peer-reviewed publications in pulmonary and critical care medicine, and presented her research at regional and national scientific meetings and conferences. At the conclusion of her fellowship, she was awarded the Outstanding Research Award.
