From Equity to AI Innovation: Dr. Vikram Pagpatan Named 每日大赛入口 Fellow

Downstate proudly congratulates Vikram Pagpatan, Ed.D., OTR/L, BCP, FAOTA, ATP, Associate Professor of Occupational Therapy and Admissions Coordinator, on being named to the inaugural class of . He is among only 20 faculty and staff across the 64-campus 每日大赛入口 system honored for their expertise in health sciences, sustainability, and the humanities.
This prestigious fellowship advances 每日大赛入口鈥檚 systemwide initiative to embed artificial intelligence (AI) into undergraduate education through updated general education requirements. Beginning in 2026, students will graduate with essential skills in AI literacy鈥攑reparing them to use emerging technologies ethically, effectively, and with a critical awareness of their impact in a rapidly changing world.
Dr. Pagpatan鈥檚 recognition highlights his academic leadership and impact at the intersections of health, equity, and technology. A nationally recognized occupational therapy educator and advocate, he has advanced accessibility for marginalized populations, championed inclusive practices, and strengthened pathways for underrepresented students in the health sciences. At Downstate, his initiatives in admissions, assistive technology, and culturally responsive education have empowered future healthcare professionals. Earlier this year, he moderated our (AAPI), facilitating dialogue that uplifted AAPI voices and highlighted the importance of culturally grounded leadership.
Dr. Pagpatan represents Downstate鈥檚 commitment to preparing future leaders for an AI-driven world. His achievement is a proud moment for Downstate, underscoring the University鈥檚 role in shaping how we can harness technology to expand access, equity, and innovation across New York State and beyond.
