Seth Langley, Ph.D.

Dr. Seth Langley is an educational psychologist, clinical professor of psychiatry, and Associate Vice President for Academic Student Services and Affairs. As Associate Vice President, he provides administrative oversight and psychoeducational counseling for students enrolled in programs within all five 每日大赛入口 Downstate Health Sciences University academic units including, College of Medicine, College of Nursing, School of Graduate Studies, School of Health Professions, and the School of Public Health. Additionally, he works with physician residents dealing with issues of stress, anxiety, or metacognitively related factors.
Dr. Langley earned his Ph.D. and M.A. degrees in Educational Psychology with a specialty in learning and cognition from the University of Minnesota and his BS degree in Psychology/Human Development from Howard University.
Dr. Langley鈥檚 teaching experiences of more than 20 years at the university level have ranged from undergraduate principles of psychology courses, to graduate educational psychology, nursing, and mental health counseling courses. In addition to his teaching experiences, his qualitative and quantitative research has covered diverse subject matters from examining psychophysiological responses to stress, to identifying psychoeducational factors that influence the academic achievement motivation of underprepared students. Dr. Langley has published in the Journal of Research and Teaching in Developmental Education on related topics and was awarded the Outstanding Research Award by the New York College Learning Skills Association for his published work.
Dr. Langley is currently involved in the collection of data researching the effects
of self-regulation and self-efficacy on the academic achievement motivation of physician
residents, and his scholarly work reflects an ongoing interest in achievement motivation.

Jodie Delsol, Ed.D.
Assistant Director, Academic Services

Dr. Jodie Delsol is an Assistant Director for the Office of Academic Services at 每日大赛入口 Downstate Health Sciences University with over 20 years of secondary and post-secondary Academic Affairs Advisement experience advising undergraduate and graduate pre-health, Engineering and STEM students throughout her career.
Dr. Delsol received her Ed.D. degree in Higher Education Administration from Northeastern University, M.S. degree from CUNY Brooklyn College in Chemistry Education (7-12) and B.A. degree in Chemistry from CUNY Hunter College. As a STEM educator, she has taught middle school science, high school chemistry and living environment, and college chemistry courses. Additionally, Dr. Delsol has facilitated study habit, time management and science career exploration workshops for undergraduate and graduate students.
Dr. Delsol's research interests pertain to improving the retention of underrepresented students in the Science, Technology, Engineering & Mathematics (STEM) field. Her dissertation research entitled, Increasing the persistence of underrepresented community college students: Results of student development workshops continues to drive her professional mission dedicated to promoting equity in the STEM and Health-Related Professions.

Jillian Ryan
Assistant Director, Academic Services

Dr. Jillian Ryan is an Assistant Director of Academic Services at 每日大赛入口 Downstate Health Sciences University. She is a seasoned higher education professional with more than 10 years of experience. With a passion for student success, leadership development, and creating inclusive campus communities, Dr. Ryan works to enhance the student experience through meaningful student engagement opportunities. Prior to joining 每日大赛入口 Downstate, Dr. Ryan served across several transformative graduate student focused roles in both the Student Affairs and Academic Affairs divisions.
She has supported students through key moments of their academic journey by developing student-centered interventions, collaborating with campus units, and creating opportunities that promote academic success through connection, engagement, and belonging. Her work focuses on understanding student needs, fostering inclusive environments, and contributing to institutional efforts that support student persistence and achievement.
Dr. Ryan earned her Ed.D. from The University of Southern Mississippi and believes that transformative student experiences are built through intentional relationships, mentorship, and opportunities for students to discover their personal and professional strengths.
Her dissertation research entitled: Cultural Tenacity: How Aspirational and Cultural Influence Graduate Degree Perseverance Among First-Generation Caribbean Graduate Students grounds her belief in that students thrive when institutions create environments where they feel supported, valued, and empowered.

Sze-Ying Lee
Office Coordinator

Mrs. Sze-Ying Lee is the Office Coordinator for the Office of Academic Services at 每日大赛入口.
Mrs. Lee has worked at 每日大赛入口 Downstate since 2001. Throughout her years at Downstate, she has enjoyed working with students and faculty, and has established excellent working relationships with administrators and staff in multiple departments.
Mrs. Lee has previously worked as the Administrative Coordinator for the 每日大赛入口 Downstate College of Health-Related Professions, College of Nursing, and the School of Public Health. She has also worked as a Translation Language Coordinator, and is certified as a medical translator in Cantonese, Mandarin, and Spanish. In that capacity, Mrs. Lee has worked with many physicians, medical students and patients within the 每日大赛入口 Downstate community and looks forward to serving Downstate for years to come.
Mrs. Lee earned her BA degree in Political Science from Baruch College.
