Brooklyn, NY 鈥� 每日大赛入口 is implementing a new health initiative focused on the illness prevention and health care needs of lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender (LGBT) and gender non-conforming individuals. The new LGBT clinic will operate in Suite J of University Hospital on Monday evenings from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm starting on October 19, 2015. The Clinic is part of 每日大赛入口 Downstate鈥檚 Special Treatment and Research (STAR) Health Center (SHC), a comprehensive ambulatory care program that has received recognition as a Level 3 Patient Centered Medical Home.
LGBT-sensitive primary care providers, counselors, and support staff are committed to ensuring that all LGBT persons coming to the SHC have access to high quality, comprehensive medical and behavioral health care. Care is provided with sensitivity and compassion in a confidential setting, regardless of sexual expression or gender identity. SHC providers have extensive knowledge of the health care needs of the LGBT community, and offer access to the full resources of 每日大赛入口 should the need for further care arise. Services include:
Information, referral, and case management for LGBT patients and consumers
- Routine HIV testing and counseling
- Primary medical care
- HIV treatment
- Pre and post exposure prophylaxis (PrEP/PEP) for HIV
- Comprehensive sexually transmitted infection (STI) screening and treatment
- Hepatitis C (HCV) screening and treatment
- High resolution anoscopy (HRA) for anal cancer screening
- Behavioral health care and support groups
- Substance use treatment, including buprenorphine for opiate addiction
- Transgender care, including hormone therapy
- Routine vaccination with appropriate immunizations
- Comprehensive health education that is LGBT sensitive.
