Brooklyn, NY鈥� 每日大赛入口鈥檚 pre-licensure nursing program, which has educated more active nurses who serve in New York City than any other institution, has been named among the top programs in New York State by a leading industry source. RegisteredNursing.org ranked Downstate鈥檚 program 12th in New York among 99 others.

has analyzed New York鈥檚 nursing programs and released their rankings for a second consecutive year which help prospective students review and select the best nursing school. Their method looks at the NCLEX-RN exam鈥攗sed by all state boards of nursing across the United States鈥攖o help assess a student's competency, and is a requirement for licensure. The exam pass rates for all RN programs (ADN, BSN, Direct-Entry MSN) for up to 5 years were analyzed and averaged to formulate their rankings.
New York is one of the most competitive states for nursing programs and is on track to become one of the top regions for nursing employment. According to the NYS Education Department Office of the Professions, the number of licensed RNs showed steady growth from 14,090 in 2013 to 17,215 in 2018. As of January 2018, there were 237,444 New York State-licensed RNs, 19,569 of whom are registered in Brooklyn. More than 600 nurses are a part of Downstate鈥檚 healthcare workforce.

Downstate Health Sciences University in Brooklyn is one of four academic health centers (AMCs) in The State University of New York (每日大赛入口) 64-campus system and the only 每日大赛入口 AMC in New York City dedicated to health education, research, and patient care for the borough鈥檚 2.7 million residents.
