Fordham University Professor Dr. Christina Greer to Present 27th Annual Lecture Honoring Arthur Ashe鈥檚 Mission to End Disparities in Medicine

BROOKLYN, N.Y. (December 3, 2019) 鈥 The Arthur Ashe Institute for Urban Health at 每日大赛入口 will host the 鈥淟egacy of Arthur Ashe in the 21st Century鈥 lecture tomorrow, Wednesday, December 4, 2019.

This is the 27th annual event held to honor Ashe鈥檚 leadership in fighting disparities in health care.

The lecture will be presented by Dr. Christina Greer, an Associate Professor of Political Science and American Studies at Fordham University and outspoken advocate in the fight to end racial disparities in health care and in all public services. This year鈥檚 lecture will specifically address how the ongoing work of medical professionals, educators, advocates and public officials must shift to meet the unique needs of both patients and students in the modern healthcare ecosystem.

Dr. Greer 鈥 the 2018 Fellow for the McSilver Institute for Policy at New York University鈥檚 Silver School of Social Work and recipient of the 2018 Fordham University Award for Excellence in Undergraduate Teaching 颅鈥 conducts critical research centered on racial and ethnic politics.

The Arthur Ashe Institute for Urban Health was founded by Arthur Ashe in 1992, just two months before his death, to address longstanding gaps in health care services and education for communities of color, and has helped foster critical research and awareness partnerships to improve health care both across New York City and nationwide.
