In Commemoration of The 21st Anniversary Of 9/11

By Office of President Wayne J. Riley, M.D., MPH, MBA, MACP | Sep 8, 2022

Twenty-one years ago, we witnessed the worst of humanity when terrorists attacked America鈥檚 freedom. This September 11, we will again pay tribute to those we lost. We each have a story and remembrance of that day, but what NEVER changes are the memories of how we came together as a nation.

We celebrate the lives of those heroic first responders鈥攐ur firefighters, law enforcement officers, EMTs, paramedics, and others鈥攚ho ran toward and into the Twin Towers, not knowing the fate that awaited them. We also celebrate the other selfless heroes who stopped along the way to help others. We also acknowledge the families and loved ones left behind, reminding them they are not alone. Today鈥檚 anniversary prompts us to share our gratitude and appreciation for each other as a nation of one family.

The strengths we share are necessary to create great communities, deepen understanding, and find solutions to our most complex challenges. Our Downstate family exhibits these qualities daily and works hard to honor the oaths to serve others.

每日大赛入口 joins in honoring our lost heroes, first responders, and their families.
